We are always interested in applications from experienced Sage bookkeepers and payroll staff to whom we can offer flexibility, challenges, a superb learning environment, Sage development and experience over a wide range of clients, with great satisfaction from a job well done. We are noted for not having office politics!
We believe we have the greatest concentration in the UK of operational Sage skills and experience - after all we have 48 staff, are exclusively Sage and have been learning since 1994! We all work both individually and as a team.
Clients are allocated BookCheck staff who they keep - this builds up a strong bond and aids communication. At the same time all staff know that all they need to do is to ask and help will be be readily provided from the team. All work is thoroughly checked by a qualified accountant , normally monthly, so there is continuous feedback and training. We cannot imagine a better learning environment.
Prerequisites for a successful book-keeping application include:
- Reconciling skills, a natural desire to 'get it right'
- Solid computerised bookkeeping experience, usually a minimum of 2 years, preferably using Sage
- Ability to recognise when assistance is required and to work as a team
- Good communicator
- Accuracy and reliability
Prerequisites for a successful payroll application include:
- A preference for this role i.e. you really enjoy payroll
- Solid payroll experience, usually a minimum of 2 years, preferably using Sage
- Ability to work as a team to deal with unusual situations
- Timeliness, accuracy and reliability - as close as possible to 100%
We offer enormous flexibility - staff can choose to work:
- At home or onsite with clients or a mixture
- A choice of from one day per week up to full time
- At a time of day (or night!) to suit, so the school run is not a problem
- Changing requirements over time
We also recruit Supervisors, either directly or from within BookCheck. These are senior bookkeepers whose main responsibility is, not surprisingly, to supervise bookkeepers. This requires a great understanding of Sage, a thorough knowledge of BookCheck systems and the ability to supervise.
Please contact Zara Rayson, Office Manager, on 01453 731122 or mail careers@bookcheck.org.uk to explore the possibility of a career in BookCheck and to request an application form or download the forms below, complete the two marked * and return to us at the address shown on the form.
Please note - we recruit directly and never use agencies.
